Dr. Summit Shah is dual board certified in allergy immunology and internal medicine. Born and raised in Ohio, Dr. Shah graduated valedictorian from Bishop Watterson High School and matriculated from THE Ohio State University for his undergraduate and THE Ohio State University College of Medicine for his medical school degree. He is a Buckeye through and through!

He went on for further training at Tufts New England Center for his internal medicine residency, the prestigious Scripps Clinic, and UCSD in San Diego for his allergy fellowship. In 2010, after working with internationally acclaimed allergists and immunologists throughout the country, Dr. Shah decided he wanted to bring new, innovative treatments back to his hometown of Columbus Ohio. Dr. Shah opened the doors of Premier Allergy & Asthma in Dublin and Westerville and has always been humbled by how Central Ohio has embraced Premier Allergy & Asthma.

Dr. Shah is excited to be able to offer allergy care that is customized to each patient and always likes to think outside the box. He was the first to bring therapies like accelerated allergy shots, aspirin desensitization and food OIT to Central Ohio. His hobbies include scuba diving, golfing and trying new restaurants in Columbus.

Andy Dang, MD, is board certified in both Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology, and is the current Medical Director of Premier Allergy & Asthma.

Dr. Dang grew up in Allentown, PA, earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at Duke University, earned his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, completed his pediatrics residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and completed fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where he did research on food allergy and anaphylaxis.

Dr. Dang has expertise in the management of environmental allergies, asthma, urticaria, and immunodeficiency. He is extremely passionate about the management of food allergy, with special interests in food allergy immunotherapy as well as social communication and perception of food allergy. He leads the Food Allergy Clinic at our Dublin office which is dedicated to food allergy evaluation, management, and treatment, including the strategic use of oral food challenges and oral immunotherapy (OIT).

Dr. Patel grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended Ursuline Academy for high school and then attended a 6 year BS/MD program at Northeast Medical University.

After meeting her husband in medical school, the pair moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where they both completed their residency and fellowship training. Dr. Patel trained under well renowned leaders in immunology and now specializes in evaluating and treating patients with immune deficiencies. Dr. Patel is board certified in pediatrics and adult allergy and immunology, but has a special interest in children with recurrent infections, allergies, and eczema. She is also a member of the American College of Allergy and Asthma and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.

Dr. Patel enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, and being with her family. She resides in Dublin with her husband, 2 children, and puppy.

Dr. Rana is a board-certified Internist who completed her Internal medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan in 2010 and returned home to Columbus to join Premier Allergy & Asthma in 2015.

Dr. Rana enjoys all aspects of allergy and has special interests in asthma, especially the complex relationship between allergy, the environment, and our health.

When not working, you can find Dr. Rana spending time with family and friends, playing piano, and volunteering with various community services.​

Benjamin Boerner, CNP is a nationally board-certified family nurse practitioner with experience in a variety of fields, including pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, asthma, allergy, cardiac, and complex care.

Benjamin graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Rehabilitation along with a Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing from Ashland University. He earned his Master of Science from Mount Carmel College of Nursing and graduated with honors. Benjamin is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as well as Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Benjamin began his nursing career at Mount Carmel West working on the cardiac intermediate care unit, where he was a charge nurse and lead preceptor for 3 years. While working at Mount Carmel West, he also worked as a contingent nurse at Nationwide Children’s hospital in the cardiac clinic. Benjamin spent his last two years as a nurse working at Nationwide Children’s Hospital on the Pulmonary Complex Care inpatient unit.

Benjamin trained extensively with Dr. Dang, Dr. Patel, and Jessica Brown CNP in the field of allergy, asthma, and immunology. With his extensive knowledge in pediatrics, adult health, asthma, and primary care, Benjamin is able to provide extraordinary comprehensive patient-centered care to people of all ages. Benjamin is passionate about shared decision making as well as educating and advocating for his patients. Special interests include asthma, allergic rhinitis, immunotherapy, and oral allergy syndrome.

Benjamin resides in Upper Arlington with his wife, Erica, and their English Bulldog, Suzanne. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, fishing, gardening, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Katie Lacy is a nurse practitioner at Premier Allergy & Asthma, serving patients throughout Canal Winchester and Lancaster, Ohio.

Katie earned her Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. While working in the emergency room as a registered nurse, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspeciality in family practice from Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. Katie is a Board-Certified family nurse practitioner licensed in Ohio. She has worked primarily in the emergency department and family practice settings.

Katie is an active member of several professional organizations including the Emergency Nurse Association, Ohio Organization of Advance Practice Nurses, and American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Katie was also recognized as an outstanding nurse by Mount Carmel Health receiving the Angel Award in 2018.

Katie and her husband reside with their two children in New Albany, Ohio. They enjoy traveling to warm and sandy places, trying new foods, boating, and relaxing with their two dogs and two ducks.

Julie Gillen-Zinsmeister is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in asthma, allergies and public health. She earned her Bachelor of Science of Nursing at San Jose State University and her Master of Science at Mount Carmel College of Nursing.

Julie is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has practiced in critical care and public health settings with adults and children. She also had the opportunity to practice outside the U.S. in Germany and Malaysia, where she and her family lived for a short time. This allowed her to work with very diverse populations and gain knowledge that continues to positively impact interactions with her patients today.

Julie trained extensively with Dr. Andrew Dang, Dr. Gita Patel, and Dr. Meenakshi Rana in the field of allergy, asthma, and immunology. She is a firm believer in collaborating with her patients and encouraging them to be active participants in their own care. With her extensive knowledge in allergies and asthma, critical care and family and public health, Julie able to provide extraordinary and comprehensive care to patients of all ages. ​

When she’s not working, Julie likes to hang out with her three kids, cook, garden, travel, root for THE Ohio State Buckeyes and spend time with her family and friends.

Jess Randolph is a nurse practitioner at Premier Allergy and Asthma serving patients throughout Marion and Lancaster locations.

Jess earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Akron in 2013. While working on a cardiac unit at Mount Carmel as a registered nurse, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspeciality in family practice from Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio in 2019. Jess is a Board-Certified family nurse practitioner licensed in Ohio. She has worked previously with advanced care cardiac patients, as well as in research and family practice settings.

Jess and her husband, Cade, reside in Delaware, Ohio with their daughter, Josie. In their spare time, they enjoy being outdoors, going to Columbus Crew soccer games, going to the zoo, and taking family trips!

Raven Competti, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner for Premier Allergy and Asthma, serving patients predominantly in Lancaster, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Registered Nurse (RN) license, and Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) focus from The Ohio State University. She is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Prior to joining the field of allergy and immunology, Raven’s clinical background was primarily in cardiology. During that time, she served as a preceptor, contributed as a member of the Evidence-Based Practice Committee, and worked as a Diabetes Unit Resource Nurse, among other roles.

Outside of work, Raven enjoys spending time with her family, running, weightlifting, and cooking.

Sofia Vashi, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in Ohio. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati and began her healthcare career working in surgery and trauma, where she gained four years of valuable clinical experience caring for patients with complex medical needs.

Sofia later earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Cincinnati and has since provided care in primary care, urgent care, and pediatric settings. Her diverse clinical background enables her to care for patients across the lifespan with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. She is committed to helping individuals and families achieve their health goals through preventive care, education, and evidence-based treatment. Sofia is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of the clinic, Sofia enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. The family lives in Dublin, Ohio, and loves traveling together and exploring new places. In her free time, Sofia enjoys cooking, staying active through running, reading a wide variety of books, and relaxing with a good cup of coffee.
